Fixed expanders are highly effective tools for promoting the growth of dental arches. At our office, we typically use both upper and lower expanders to ensure balanced and sufficient expansion. This approach is especially helpful when growth guides alone are not enough to catch up arch development.
We follow a slow and gentle expansion protocol to keep your child comfortable throughout the process. Once the desired expansion is achieved, the expander remains in place for 4–6 months to stabilize the results. Afterward, we typically transition to a growth guide to continue supporting natural growth and development.
