We use a myofunctional appliance to support the development of both the upper and lower jaws. This flexible silicone device is highly effective because it helps position the tongue up against the palate, where it naturally belongs. Myofunctional appliances come in blue, clear, pink, or purple colors. We can begin treatment as early as age 3. Recommended wear time is 1 hour during the day and all night. As the child grows, we graduate to larger appliances and may eventually reduce wear time. This appliance provides an excellent foundation for both dental alignment and airway health.
